GETTING STARTED

Consult

Call us! We would love to talk to you about the desires you have for your very own oasis.  We will take the time to visit your home, and talk to you in detail about all things pools. There are so many things to consider when building a pool-- whether that be the look and feel of design, or actual construction. We want to make sure that no detail goes unspoken so that you can have a product that creates memories for years to come.

Design

Colors, shape, and function set the tone for how you will feel about the finished product. We take great care to help make sure that the vision you have for your oasis will be reflected in the design.  Do you want bright blue water--reminiscent of the Bahamas? Or maybe you want a deeper blue/green lagoon. Will a linear pool complement the modern elegance of your home? Or maybe curves and water features will enhance the architecture of your traditional landscape.  We can handle all the details.

BUILD

We have a fantastic team to bring your project to life. From beginning to end, our builders will make sure you're filled in on the project every step of the way. Our expert crew can handle building even the most detailed design. We also handle all the "red tape" categories of obtaining permits and other related necessities for you. We believe in building a beautiful, high quality product that will be the talk of the neighborhood.

Questions to Ask Yourself Before You Get Started:

WHAT IS MY BUDGET?

Determining your budget before you start on a project is important. It helps us give you a realistic understanding the types of materials we will use and a clear picture of what the end result will look like. One thing is for certain, no matter the cost, Phillips Pools is dedicated to giving you a fantastic product.

HOW DO I WANT MY OASIS TO FUNCTION?

Functionality is key. Do you envision spending more time on your pool deck, entertaining and grilling out?  Maybe your family would benefit from a wider tanning ledge in your pool rather than a big deep end.  Take some time to think about what your main function will be for your space and let us know!

WHAT IS MY TIME FRAME?

You'll need to start thinking about the right time for your pool installation.  Once the design process is complete here are some realistic time frames for project completion on a pool:

  • Fiber glass pools: 2-3 weeks

  • Vinyl Pools:  3-4 weeks

  • Pebble Tec or Gunite pools:  about 8-10 weeks depending on weather.

WHAT TYPE OF POOL DO I WANT?

Do you know the differences of a salt water pool and a chlorine pool?  Here is a helpful side by side comparison:

Salt Water Pool

  • Costs less in maintenance chemicals

  • Requires less frequent maintenance

Cons:

  • Uses more electricity ($36 to $48, added electricity cost)

  • Repairs may require a professional

  • Salt water can damage pool features, plants, and soil

Chlorine Pool

Pros:

  • Less costly initial investment

  • Uses less electricity

  • Problems usually solved by homeowner

  • Does not cause damage to pool features

Cons:

  • Higher concentration of chlorine

  • Chlorine must be added to the pool

  • Can cause skin to itch and dry out

  • Chlorine must be stored and used carefully

  • More expensive and frequent maintenance

  • Needs to be “shocked” more often
